At the Municipal Assembly of Bajina Basta, within the project of proper use of child car seats, the representatives of the Road Traffic Safety Agency Nikola Brboric and Aleksandar Puric shared the child car seats, together with the president of Bajina Basta municipality Radomir Filipovic,
On that occasion, the representative of the Agency Nikola Brboric gave the parents presentation called Training for proper use of child car seats. Parents also had the opportunity to attend the training of proper positioning car seats, and were given a brochure about the importance of using car seats.
Within the Traffic Safety Agency’s campaign called "Never tempt your fate," a representative of the Agency Branko Stamatovic informed the citizens of Kikinda about the necessity of the use of child car seats.
After the seminar that was held at the Center for Professional Development, representative of the Agency Branko Stamatović shared 20 car seats, and said that the aim of this action is to raise awareness of Serbian citizens on the importance of the use of protective equipment in vehicles. "We have a common goal, to increase the use of child protection systems at 85%," said Stamatović. Support for this action was provided by the City of Kikinda and the Local Road Traffic Safety Council.
One in a row of lectures for tractor drivers was organized in Resnik, municipality of Rakovica, where 60 drivers of tractors and agricultural machines were present. The lecture was opened by the president of the Rakovica Municipality Vladan Kocic, who emphasized the importance of organizing these lectures for safety of tractor drivers. Assistant director at the Road Traffic Safety Agency Svetlana Miljus stated the data about tractor driver casualties in traffic and pointed out the importance of solving the problem and increasing safety of tractor driver in traffic.
The Road Traffic Safety Agency has been conducting a campaign aimed at increasing road safety of people older than 65, having in mind the fact that this group of road users is particularly jeopardized in traffic.
On that occasion, representative of the Agency, Branko Stamatovic, held the lecture at the city parliament of Novi Sad where he presented statistical data and results of the research on jeopardy of people older than 65 in traffic. “According to the data, people older than 65 make 18% of the entire population in the Republic of Serbia, but every fourth fatality in road accident is a person older than 65. Namely, about 25% of killed and 105 of injured in road accidents are people older than 65”, said Stamatovic.
“Pazljivko’s traffic competition” at schools, in cooperation between the Road Traffic Safety Agency and Local road Traffic Safety Councils, were organized in all kindergartens and and primary schools in Vranje, Temerin, Cajetina, Savski venac and Vrnjacka Banja.
About of 4800 preschool children and students of first and second grade in primary schools completed the tests adjusted to their age, marking correct and incorrect actions in traffic.
School competitions are efficient models when it comes to learning about different topics, including road safety. The RTSA has continued conducting the pilot project “Pazljivko’s traffic competition” so that children could acquire new knowledges and learn about safe behavior in traffic. Following the completion of the first phase adoption of Methodology of conducting “Pazljivko’s traffic competition”, training of moderators who will lead the children through the completion in local self-governments begun.
In the following period, the RTSA has continued the activities aimed at increasing safety of children in traffic. Along with the interactive traffic education class “Pazljivko’s traffic rules” conducted in the previous years, at the beginning of 2017 a pilot project of competition on road safety among pre-school and primary school children has been initiated.
Data show that children of 8 years of age and above are significantly more jeopardized in traffic if they are not prepared to participate in traffic independently, therefore it is necessary to introduce additional prevention activities that could provide best results in the field of children’s road safety. It is the reason for initiating a project like this one. Through this competition, children should review their previous knowledges and acquire new ones.
March 3, 2017 – at the City hall of Vrnjacka Banja municipality sharing of child car seats by the representatives of the Road Traffic Safety Agency Dusko Pesic and Aleksandar Puric were organized, together with the president of Vrnjacka Banja municipality Boban Djurovic, and parents whose children were born after March 1, 2017. Representatives of the Local Road Traffic Safety Council in Vrnjacka Banja were also present.
The first meeting of representatives of the Agency and Citizens Association “Atlas” about the Handbook for conducting the program of traffic education in pre-schools and elementary schools, was he at Road Traffic Safety Agency. The topics of the meeting were proposals of methodical handbooks, with separate topics and methodic depending on the age of children, in three handbooks, for preschool, first to fourth grade of elementary school and fourth to eight grade of elementary school.
Having in mind the number of consequences of road accidents with tractors, the Road Traffic Safety Agency has this year as well initiated and supported many activities devoted to increasing safety of this category of road users.
According to the Law on road traffic safety that precisely defines the obligations of tractor drivers and by conducting numerous actions and campaigns, the number of killed and injured tractor drivers in road accidents has been reducing over the years.
According to that, the Agency has supported the action of tractor and agriculture machines drivers, initiated by the Local road traffic safety council of Vrsac town, in cooperation with the driving school “BOS”, traffic police department and representatives of Council of villages, with the aim of educating and reducing the number of road accidents with tractor drivers.
