June 13th 2015 Kraljevo –The Traffic Safety Council of Kraljevo city has given the first set of child car seats for children born after November 2014 until today. Representatives of the Road Traffic Safety Agency used the opportunity to hold a training for future educators and parents about the correct use of child car seats.
Attendees had a chance to consult the educators about how to use child car seats correctly, the most common mistakes as well as other doubts parents usually have when driving their children.
On Friday June 12th 2015 organized by the Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure and the Road Traffic Safety Agency, the fourth public class was held within the campaign “I Choose Life”. The class was held by Brankica Sebastijanovic, actress and ambassador of the campaign “I Choose Life”, Slavisa Savic, injured in a car accident and coordinator of the project ”I’m Still Driving” and Dusko Pesic Head of Division for Planning, Prevention and Education in the Road Traffic Safety Agency and at the same time moderator of the public class.
Road Traffic Safety Agency regularly prepares different materials for promoting certain activities. Currently we have five new brochures and one complete statistical report translated into English language. Brochures are mostly related to significant projects previously realized. After six seminars for knowledge improvement for driving instructors in April and May (in Belgrade, Novi Sad, Nis, Zajecar and Uzice) the Road Traffic Safety Agency in organizing 45 seminars for knowledge improvement for licensed driving instructors.
To help advance a global road safety agenda, the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) has joined forces with the Government of the Republic of Serbia (Ministry of Construction, Traffic and Infrastructure (MCTI) and Road Traffic Safety Agency (RTSA)) and Regional Cooperation Council (RCC). The workshop will bring together a wide range of road safety stakeholders and interested parties from the public and private sectors, including decision makers, planning authorities, and international organizations. Discussions – in English, Russian and Serbian - will focus on issues such as establishment of a lead agency, developing a national strategy, setting realistic and long term targets, funding sources and data support systems for monitoring and evaluation. The primary focus of the workshop will be on South-East Europe and Western Balkans, but the expected participation of experts from other UNECE countries would bring additional insights about good practices and experiences from across the UNECE region.
The Road Traffic Safety Agency of the Republic of Serbia, with the support of the European Transport Safety Council (ETSC), Faculty of Transport and Traffic Engineering of the Belgrade University, Faculty of Technical Science of the Novi Sad University and the Academy of Criminalistic and Police Studies, is organizing an International Scientific Conference “Transport Safety Performance Indicators”.
