At the offices of the Road Traffic Safety Agency a meeting was held today with the president of the Republic Road Traffic Safety Council in Macedonia, Stojce Stamenkovski.
The topic of the conversation was how to solve priority problems in the best possible way together, problems concerning road safety of all road users in the region. Special attention is going to be given addressing the road users in the future summer months, June, July, August and September due to increased risks because of frequent travels to distant destinations.
On May 23rd and 30th, at the Technical school in Krusevac the third in a row two-day program of professional improvement was held for the employed in education, called “Dangers in traffic”.
The final goal of the program is also training teachers for creating plans and preparation for practical realization of classes and activities about dangers in traffic, in working with children.
The seminar was attended by 29 participants, teachers and special education teachers from schools for children special needs in Krusevac and villages in the area, who prepared a number of activities, parent meetings, workbooks and lessons concerning road traffic safety.
May 31, 2016 – On the occasion of celebrating road safety day, the Road Traffic Safety Agency in cooperation with the Local Road Traffic Safety Council in Loznica organized a traffic educational class “Pazljivko” for all the first grade students of elementary schools in the city. On the occasion, the assistant mayor Ljubinko Djokic spoke in front of to about 300 children and emphasized the importance of child safety in traffic. “Pazljivko” has a goal to teach children the basic rules in traffic through play.
The Road Traffic Safety Agency was a participant at the 83rd International Agricultural Fair in Novi Sad form 16 to 26 May. The Agency wishes to point out the importance of safe behavior in traffic by conducting different activities.
During the fair, more than 500 visitors tried the simulators of head-on collision and vehicle rollover.
The representatives of the Agency prepared a special program to address one of the most jeopardized categories, tractor drivers. A lecture was organized for tractor drivers where they got education material about safety of tractor drivers in traffic “Tractor on road, safe and noticeable”. At the lecture an overview of procedures conducted by the Road Traffic Safety Agency when importing new or used tractors of T type were explained. UN regulations related to tractors followed in the Republic of Serbia that are controlled in import were presented, as well as the EU regulations planned for implementation into the domestic legislation and the overview of development of limitations in the gas emission of tractors since 2000 up to now. It was emphasized that in the following period the Road Traffic Safety Agency will intensively deal with road safety, primarily in terms of control and testing safety cabins and frames for this type of vehicles.
The Road Traffic Safety Agency supported the action of Polytechnic school in Kragujevac, called “Going to the graduation without a car”, held for the third year in a row. This action stimulates students of the final years of high schools not use cars on graduation nights due to the expected alcohol consumption, but to lean on the help of their friends or parents.
The Agency as an example of good practice recommended holding this activity in more cities and municipalities in the Republic of Serbia, therefore a lecture preceding the graduation night is planned within the action.
The representative of the Agency, Head of the Local Self-Government Section Branko Stamatovic was a guest on Kopernikus TV and spoke about the joint campaign of the Road Traffic Safety Agency and the NIS Company aimed at increasing safety of agriculture workers in traffic.
On the occasion Stamatovic said that the joint campaign aimed at tractor drivers “We take care of you” has more segments. In the first segment the accent is on tractor drivers and in the following period on motorcycle and moped riders, after which special attention will be given to transit passengers and our citizens travelling abroad. At the end of the year, the campaign is going to be devoted to risks of winter driving conditions.
At the beginning of the upcoming agriculture works, NIS Company and the Road Traffic Safety Agency have initiated the campaign “We take care of you”, devoted to increasing road safety of agriculture workers.
Within the campaign, NIS is going to provide leaflets and their distribution at their gas stations all over Serbia, in the municipalities where, according to the statistical data available for the Road Traffic Safety Agency, the target group is the most jeopardized. The agriculture workers will be able to read become familiar with the advice about safe driving, traffic rules and the importance of technical correctness of their vehicles.
NIS and the Road Traffic Safety Agency have organized a number of actions together since 2012, and the cooperation became official last year by signing the official protocol.
The joint campaign will be conducted continuously during the entire year, so that it could reach all the jeopardized road users through prevention, education and development of traffic culture.
It is well known that holidays bring crowds on roads, borders and tolls. On that occasion, the representative of the Road Traffic Safety Agency Dusko Pesic was a guest at the Telemaster show on “Happy” television and appealed to all drivers not to sit in their cars if they had consumed alcohol and to use safety belts, at both front and rear seats.
Pesic stated that on wet carriageway the vehicle stopping distance is 20-30% longer, therefore drivers must adjust the speed to the weather conditions, pay special attention to the the distance between vehicles and check the correctness of their vehicles, especially the brakes.
Data on road accidents occurred in the year 2015 in the Republic of Serbia became available through the WEB GIS application Road safety indicators database , of the Road Traffic Safety Agency.
Using the WEB GIS application it is possible to make analysis of road accident data and persons involved in road accidents. Road accident data overview and export can be done according to the: police department, municipality, year, month, day, time, type, vehicle category and road user age, while when analyzing persons it is possible to make analysis according to gender and type of road user. On April 21 and 22, in the elementary school “Kneginje Milice” in New Belgrade, the Road Traffic Safety Agency held a two-day program of professional improvement for the employed in the education system. The program is called “Dangers in traffic” and the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development accredited the Agency for conducting it.
The final goal of the program is training of preschool teachers and teachers for creating a plan and preparation for the practical realization of class and activities about the dangers in traffic when working with children.
