On March 25, 2016, the Road Traffic Safety Agency took part in the second day of professional seminar “Safety of children in traffic” organized by the City traffic and road administration of Novi Sad and the Local Road Traffic Safety Coordination Body of Novi Sad, at the SPENS amphitheater. Representing the Agency, Miroslav Rosic spoke about children casualties in traffic and the role of teachers in its reduction.
The City traffic and road administration of Novi Sad and Local Road Traffic Safety Coordination Body of Novi Sad organized a two-day professional seminar “Safety of children in traffic” on March 24 and 25 in Novi Sad, at SPENS amphitheater.
The aim of this professional meeting is raising awareness of teachers’ knowledge about the importance of child safety in traffic zones of elementary and high schools in the territory of Novi Sad.
On Tuesday March 22, within the fifth “BG CAR SHOW” in cooperation of the Road Traffic Safety Agency and the Automobile and Motorcycle Association of Serbia (AMSS) - Center for Motor Vehicles, a scientific-professional meeting about testing vehicles in the Republic of Serbia was organized.
On that occasion, Zoran Alimpic was a guest at the morning show of TV Kopernikus, representing the Agency and emphasizing that the main topics of the scientific meeting were persons with disabilities, their participation in traffic and testing of vehicles. On that occasion, he stated that all the vehicles participating in traffic must be technically correct and meet the conditions prescribed by the law, and that persons with disabilities have special conditions, therefore the vehicles they operate must be adjusted to their disabilities. Having in mind that in that way the technical characteristics of the vehicles are being changed, they must be tested in order to determine if the other characteristics had remained unchanged and if such vehicle is safe for participation in traffic. On the website of the Road Traffic Safety Agency there is a list of six organizations that perform that kind of testing, and in the future period, the Agency and the authorized institutions would try to find the easiest mechanism so that the vehicle testing for persons with disabilities could be completed in one step.
On Tuesday March 22, 2016 within the fifth BG CAR SHOW, a science-professional meeting about testing of vehicles in the Republic of Serbia was organized, in cooperation with the Belgrade Fair, and with the support of the Automobile and Motorcycle Association of Serbia (AMSS)-Center for Motor Vehicles, the Road Traffic Safety Agency and authorized legal entities for testing vehicles.
Minister of Labor, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs, Aleksandar Vulin, opened the meeting, and the president of AMSS, Mirko Butulija, addressed the present as well.
The Road Traffic Safety Agency has completed the maps with values of safety performance indicators in the Republic of Serbia for the year 2015.
The maps contain the values of indicators about the behavior of road users regarding the seat belt use, use of child protection systems, use of protection helmets, speed of vehicles and driving under the influence of alcohol. Besides that, a map with the values of safety performance indicators related to the care of casualties in road accidents – average time of ambulance arrival.
March 21, 2016 – At the car fair “BG CAR SHOW”, on Sunday March 20, 2016, the company MONTOGRINI GRUPPO, supported by the Road Traffic Safety Agency, organized a workshop for children.
On this occasion, more than 100 children made and decorated helmets made of clay, and at the end of the workshop, they got the illustrated book “Pazljivko’s Traffic Rules” from the representatives of the Road Traffic Safety Agency, Aleksandar Puric and Lidija Stanojevic.
March 18, 2016 – The Mayor of Belgrade Sinisa Mali, and the Acting Director of the Road Traffic Safety Agency signed the Protocol of cooperation for improving road safety in Belgrade. City Traffic Secretary Dusan Rafailovic was present at signing the protocol.
The Mayor was satisfied that the City of Belgrade had started an intensive cooperation with the Road Traffic Safety Agency in order to increase road safety in the city.
March 17, 2016 – The Road Traffic Safety Agency of the Republic of Serbia will be present at the panel discussion, at the FCA Srbija stand, about ecology and advantages of driving cars, both new and alternative fuel ones.
In the Strategy for road traffic safety in the Republic of Serbia 215-2020 safety of vehicles is recognized as one of the five key working fields for improving road safety.
March 16, 2016 -The first session of the Road Traffic Safety Council of Military Road Users in 2016 was held at the Management for General Logistics for Material Resources, when the safest drivers in the Ministry of Defense in Serbian Army in the previous year were proclaimed. Along with the Road Traffic Safety Agency, members of the Council were also present – representatives of the units and institutions of the Ministry of Defense and Serbian Army, as well as the representatives of the Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure, Traffic Police Department of the Ministry of Interior, the Faculty of Transport and Traffic Engineering in Belgrade and the Faculty of Technical Sciences in Novi Sad.
March 16, 2016, Belgrade – At the invitation of the Municipality of Rakovica, the Road Traffic Safety Agency held an education for the elderly citizens about safe participation in traffic, at the Daily dwelling place for seniors in the Municipality of Rakovica.
The lecture was supported by the Minister of Interior, PhD Nebojsa Stefanovic. In conversation with the pensioners today, he emphasized that safety in traffic, but also the entire safety of the elderly citizens is extremely important for the Serbian police and that special attention should be given to it. The minister expressed worry for a high number of casualties older than 65, and underlined that future activities would be aimed at solving this problem.
