“Pazljivko’s traffic competition” at schools, in cooperation between the Road Traffic Safety Agency and Local road Traffic Safety Councils, were organized in all kindergartens and and primary schools in Vranje, Temerin, Cajetina, Savski venac and Vrnjacka Banja.
About of 4800 preschool children and students of first and second grade in primary schools completed the tests adjusted to their age, marking correct and incorrect actions in traffic.
The best teams of three members, at the teachers’ proposal, are going to represent their school or kindergarten at the municipality competition, where the best teams are going to continue to the republic competition in Vrnjacka Banja, gathering the children from other local self-governments involved in the pilot project.
“Statistical data show that we can protect the children aged between 6 and 8 only if we prepare them to participate in traffic in safe and quality way. On the contrary, the risk of child casualties in traffic is higher”, said on the occasion the representative of the RTSA Tomislav Petrovic. By analyzing the mistakes children made during the competition we will determine how much the children learnt on safe traffic behavior, as well as how the local councils should work with children and which topics to explain additionally in the future.
